What are some of the advantages of using a broadband connection to download something like a video compared to dial up?

The broadband connection can transfer more amounts of information therefore downloading a video at a faster speed. Dial  up cannot transfer the same amount of information that broadband can, as it doesn't have a wide range of frequencies that can be transmitted through the internet. Another advantage of broadband internet is that you can still speak on the phone while on the internet. When you are connected to a dial up connection, if you want to speak on the phone while connected to it, it will not work.

What are the speeds that broadband operates at compared to dial up

Broadband has a transfer rate of 256 kilobits of data per second 
Dial-up has a transfer rate of 56 Kilobits of data per second

How much faster is broadband than dial up?

Broad band is 200 kbs faster than dial up. This means that downloads from the web are faster with dial-up it may even take up to one whole day to downlad a large file. Broadband has faster page loading as well.

Broadband is a term used regularly with different types of internet connections. Generally, it is referred to as telecommunication in which a wide band of frequencies is available to transmit information. The larger the range of frequencies available, higher the amount of information sent that can be given at any point of time.
